Hege Kverneland received a M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science in 1990 and graduated from the General Management Program (GMP) in Harvard Business School in 2009.
Hege Kverneland was in 2014 ranked Top 50 Most Powerful Women in Oil and Gas corporations in America.
Hege has more than 20 years of extensive engineering and product management background, contributing to quality assurance, research and product development. Hege began with FluScan in 1991, acquired by Hitec in 1994, and thereby joining National Oilwell® through acquisition in 1999.
She has authored numerous SPE/IADC papers within drilling as well as two textbooks of Offshore Hydraulics. She held the position as Corporate R&D manager of National Oilwell Varco from 2001 to 2009 and contributed in several new product developments in this period, including a new Mud Pump Design, different PM-motor designs, Winches, Heave Compensation Systems, Automation and Drilling Optimization projects.
